Q: What aircraft did you own prior to the TBM 700?
Doug: I learned to fly on a 1979 Piper T-tailed Arrow. I progressed to a 1986 Malibu, then to a 1997 Mirage, and just before the TBM, a 1999 Mirage.
Q: When shopping for new airplanes, what were you
looking for in a new aircraft?
Doug: First and foremost, the airplane had to be turbine powered.
I had a need for at least a six-passenger airplane with a range of at least 1200 nautical miles.
Q: What prompted your interest in the TBM 700?
Doug: Its reputation for reliability and strength.
Q: How does the aircraft meet up to your expectations, now that it's in your
hangar?
Doug: The airplane completely meets and exceeds my expectations with
regard to ease
of operation, speed, and payload.
Q: Do the aircraft
performance numbers of the TBM 700 meet the published numbers of the aircraft?
Doug: In all aspects, the TBM 700 meets the published numbers.
Q: Do you feel that Avex/Socata provide a strong support base for your aircraft?
Doug: Avex and Socata
have done everything to ensure that my
airplane is ready at all times to meet whatever mission I have in mind.
Q: What do you think about the quality of the aircraft?
Doug: I believe that the quality of the airplane is among the finest in the general aviation fleet.
The airplane is right up there with King Airs and PC12's.
